Client: The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Project Description

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta (The Foundation) engaged Clarification & Mediation (C&M) to design and facilitate a series of focus groups with Foundation grantees who had received Common Goods Fund operating grants or Nonprofit Toolbox awards, which are custom-designed packages of management consulting to help solve key organizational challenges or problems.

Input solicited in the focus groups helped create a contextual foundation for The Foundation to comprehensibly evaluate their impact on strengthening the region’s non-profits, and to gather feedback to inform future grant making and accountability.

To begin the consultancy, C&M facilitated sessions with staff to collaboratively define the scope of the project and design the areas of inquiry. Sixty-seven organizations participated in the focus groups. The Foundation Board used the feedback collected to inform decisions about grant making policies and protocols.
